For today's prompt, write a story based on a reality TV show.

(Note: If your story gets flagged for review, be patient—we will be releasing comments every few hours throughout the weekdays of this challenge. Our system randomly flags comments for review, so just sit tight and wait for us to set it free! If you run into any other issues with posting your story, please just send me an e-mail at mrichard@aimmedia.com with the subject line: Flash Fiction Challenge Commenting Issue.)

Here’s my attempt at a story based on a reality TV show:

You Are the Father

The crowd was murmuring excitedly, all eyes pinned to the three people next to the host. The husband was on one couch; his wife and his girlfriend on the other, purposefully alienating him.

“Our children deserve to know each other,” the girlfriend said.

“He made a mistake, but these children are not mistakes. They are family!” the wife agreed.

The crowd cheered and hooted, delighting in the drama, having sided with the women. Video of the babies played on the large screen behind the host.

The husband hunkered down.

The host flashed his yellow folder. “Let’s get to the results.”
