2021 November PAD Chapbook Challenge: Day 3
For the 2021 November PAD Chapbook Challenge, poets are tasked with writing a poem a day in the month of November before assembling a chapbook manuscript in the month of December. Today’s prompt is to write an As Blank poem.
I often say that poets who get through the first three days of these poem-a-day challenges are the most likely to get through all 30 days. So let's keep breaking those lines (unless you're writing prose poems).
For today's prompt, take the phrase "As (blank)," replace the blank with a new word phrase, make the new phrase the title of your poem, and then, write your poem. Possible titles might include: "As You Like It," "As If," "As One Goes, So Goes the Other," and/or "As Seen on TV."
Remember: These prompts are springboards to creativity. Use them to expand your possibilities, not limit them.

Here’s my attempt at an As Blank Poem:
“as the world burns”
as the world burns
through the minutes
of our lives in a general
library the bold & the kind
of okay looking bright
shadows with one life
to give for the young
& the patient maybe
in dallas or austin
or houston before
reality television
there was soap
