Mail’s Here!
Every writer needs a little inspiration once in a while. For today’s prompt, you’ve got mail.
Mailboxes have always fascinated me—growing up on an isolated country lane, we had one bright white metal box on a tilted wooden pole. When I went to college, we had a little humid room with floor-to-ceiling gold slots on the wall. At my spouse's apartment in grad school, the building was a 1920s hotel converted into individual units, but it still had original metal filigree from when the building was new on their mailbox covers.
For today's prompt, set your story wherever your character gets their mail.
