2023 February Flash Fiction Challenge: Day 4
Write a piece of flash fiction each day of February with the February Flash Fiction Challenge, led by Managing Editor Moriah Richard. Each day, receive a prompt, example story, and write your own. Today’s prompt is to write from the perspective of a guardian angel.
For today’s prompt, write from the perspective of a guardian angel. Whether that's a supernatural being or just an angel on Earth, let your creativity soar!
Remember: These prompts are just starting points; you have the freedom to go wherever your flash of inspiration takes you.

Thwarted Angel
I was ready—after years of hospitals, bad test results, and the look on my children’s faces, whatever waited for me after had to be better. But when I saw all the children left behind, stuck between their last life and the next? I knew “moving on” wasn’t an option.
