2020 November PAD Chapbook Challenge: Day 9

For the 2020 November PAD Chapbook Challenge, poets are tasked with writing a poem a day in the month of November before assembling a chapbook manuscript in the month of December. Today’s prompt is to write an our blank poem.

For today’s prompt, take the phrase "Our (blank)," replace the blank with a word or phrase, make the new phrase the title of your poem, and then, write your poem. Possible titles could include: "Our House," "Our Little Secret," "Our Shared Responsibilities," and/or even "Our Next Last Chance."

Remember: These prompts are springboards to creativity. Use them to expand your possibilities, not limit them.

Here’s my attempt at an Our Blank Poem:

“our present tense”

am i the victim or victimizer
am i the fool or the wiser
i wish to live in the present tense
but i admit it feels intense
as if things are more than they seem
like in an ever changing dream
