2023 April PAD Challenge: Day 11

Write a poem every day of April with the 2023 April Poem-A-Day Challenge. For today’s prompt, we have our second two-for-Tuesday prompt.

For today's prompt, we have our second two-for-Tuesday prompt, which means you get two prompts, and they are:

  1. Write a form poem, and/or...
  2. Write an anti-form poem.

By form, I'm thinking of the various poetic forms, but it's completely fine if you've thought of another interpretation of form. Also, if you want to peruse possible poetic forms, click here to find more than 100 poetic forms.

Remember: These prompts are springboards to creativity. Use them to expand your possibilities, not limit them.

Later this month, be sure to check out the 2nd annual Writer's Digest Poetry Writing Virtual Conference with four great presentations put on by award-winning poets covering a variety of topics, including how to put together poetry collections and bring fresh insight to familiar ideas.

Here’s my attempt at a Form and/or Anti-Form Poem:

"to rhyme or not"

some poets rhyme while others don't
though i've been known to go both ways
except of course for when i won't
some poets rhyme while others don't
or they'll slant rhyme don't with disown
and own their slants throughout their days
because some rhyme while others don't
but most tend to break either way

(Note on my form: I believe this might be my first triolet of this challenge, but it's a form I tend to favor when I'm not sure what to write.)
