2023 April PAD Challenge: Day 3

Write a poem every day of April with the 2023 April Poem-A-Day Challenge. For today’s prompt, write a connection poem.

I've always felt the first three prompts are the most important. If you can get through those, you've got a much better chance at completing the entire challenge. So let's get to day three.

For today's prompt, write a connection poem. The connection poem could be technical, like a phone connection or an internet connection. But it could also refer to a romantic connection or one of a kindred spirit. As an INFJ, I naturally make connections (often grand leaps in logic) all the time; I'm just hardwired that way.

So whatever connection you make, be sure to capture that in a poem.

Remember: These prompts are springboards to creativity. Use them to expand your possibilities, not limit them.

Later this month, be sure to check out the 2nd annual Writer's Digest Poetry Writing Virtual Conference with four great presentations put on by award-winning poets covering a variety of topics, including how to put together poetry collections and bring fresh insight to familiar ideas.

Here’s my attempt at a Connection Poem:

"for sure"

for sure she rang
but he didn't answer
though they both
had a connection

sometimes it happens
that way and no one
not even he
understands why

and they're both left
wondering what if
and maybe
but they'll never know
