2023 November PAD Chapbook Challenge: Day 17
For the 2023 November PAD Chapbook Challenge, poets are tasked with writing a poem a day in the month of November before assembling a chapbook manuscript in the month of December. Day 17 is to write a refresh poem.
(Update! For some reason, today's comments are not appearing below at the moment. I do see them in the Disqus dashboard, and they're approved...soooo, we'll have to see what happens today. Just remember to keep poeming away in the meantime and hopefully all these approved comments will display soon.)
For today’s prompt, write a refresh poem. A person might refresh their browser, or give their home decor a little refresh. Lemonade on a hot summer's day could be refreshing. And well, a positive news story is refreshing as well. Poems, of course, are refreshing too.
Remember: These prompts are springboards to creativity. Use them to expand your possibilities, not limit them.
Note on commenting: If you wish to comment on the site, go to Disqus to create a free new account, verify your account on this site below (one-time thing), and then comment away. It's free, easy, and the comments (for the most part) don't require manual approval like on the old site.

Here’s my attempt at a Refresh Poem:
“In Practice”
The best moment
of every hard practice
in high school cross country
was when we gathered
around coach's car
to collect a small paper cup
of watered down Gatorade
we'd make last
as long as our runs.
