Jacquelyn Mitchard is the author of 20 books for adults, Young Adults and children, whose first novel, The Deep End of the Ocean, was called by USA Today “one of the most influential books of the past 25 years.” Her subsequent novels and stories have been nominated for or won many awards, including the Orange Broadband Prize for Fiction, The Talkabout Prize, The Shirley Jackson Award, and the Bluebonnet Prize. Her work is set in contemporary times and her stories deal with ethically demanding issues, from biomedical science to crime to the challenges that face the family. The editor-in-chief of a Young Adult only imprint, Merit Press, she is a professor in the MFA program in Writing at Vermont College of Fine Arts. She lives with her husband and their nine children on Cape Cod. Her new book, Two If By Sea, is in bookstores now.
