Melanie Bishop’s story, “Home for Wayward Girls” won the 2022 Jeanne Leiby Chapbook Award, published in 2023. Her YA novel, My So-Called Ruined Life (Torrey House Press, 2014), was a top-five finalist for both the John Gardner Award in Fiction and CLMP’s Firecracker Awards. Bishop has published in the New York Times, Huffington Post, New York Journal of Books, Glimmer Train, and others. She is Faculty Emeritus at Prescott College in Arizona, where she taught for 22 years, and more recently has taught creative writing through Stanford Continuing Studies. She offers editing and book doctoring through Lexi Services.
