Sally Smith is a journalist and writer who has worked for many leading publications and media, including the Daily Mail (where she was one of their youngest Foreign Correspondents) and BBC News in the UK plus ABC News in Australia. She was named Business Writer of the Year, has a Churchill Fellowship and has had books published by Pelham Books, Rigby Books and The History Press. Her main interests in life have been travel, aviation and sailing. She has lived on four continents, visited 72 countries and worked in major cities around the world from Cairo to Singapore and Tokyo to Perth, Western Australia. In her younger days she was Britain’s women’s freefall champion, member of the British Parachute team and formed and led the world’s only all girl skydiving display team. She then took up ballooning, obtaining her commercial licence and was a member of the Australian ballooning team, coming second overall female in the world championships. In more recent years Sally has taken up sailing with her family and has her RYA Day Skipper qualification.
